Easter Picnic, April 6, 2026 (ADO Deanery)

“Then go quickly and tell his disciples, “He has risen from the dead and now he is going ahead of you to Galilee; that is where you will see him.”
— Matthew 28:7

There was an atmosphere of great joy in the Diocese of Ekiti after Easter Sunday, as Christ’s faithful in the different deaneries hastened with joy to make the Saviour of the world at Galilee, as He had requested of His disciples. The celebration in Ado Deanery took place in the State pavilion along New Iyin Road in Ado Ekiti, hosted by Holy Family Catholic Church, Ado. It opened with the Mass at 10 am led by the Chief celebrant, Rev. Fr Felix Odesanmi, accompanied by the Priests of the deanery, consecrated and lay persons. At Thanksgiving, parishes and chaplaincies filled the air with marvellous rejoicing and the ground with dancing of praise like that of David. The celebration continued after the Mass with the sharing and exchange of meals, along with entertaining performances and presentations.
